A new video explores why the dungeons of vanilla World of Warcraft were so long.
The reason, it turns out, was because developers thought that players would only run through them once. YouTuber hirumaredx provides additional context and history behind dungeons before World of Warcraft hit.
He explains that previous MMOs, like Everquest, didn’t have instanced dungeons. This meant that pretty much every dungeon was an open-world boss. This meant that only the hardcore players would actually do dungeons.
