World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Expansion Coming In 2020 - MMORPG.com

The veil was finally pulled back on the next chapter of the World of Warcraft story, as the team at BlizzCon showcased today the premiere of its upcoming expansion, Shadowlands

In an explosive new cinematic trailer, Shadowlands takes place after the events of Battle for Azeroth with both the Alliance and the Horde having a shaky truce between the two. Sylvannas takes matters into her own hands and literally tears the veil asunder, revealing the Shadowlands, the afterlife for all denizens of Azeroth.

In another trailer, the Shadowlands are explored a little further the world that makes up the afterlife, bringing with it new zones, such as the Gothic-looking Revendreth, or the ethereal Ardenweald. Ion Hazzikostas on stage at BlizzCon 2019 stated that Shadowlands looks to offer players agency in how they approach the factions of the new expansion. More is going to be revealed in panels this weekend, including what the actual Covenants players can join are all about. However, while the expansion doesn't hit till next year, Shadowlands is on sale now for those who want to get their orders out of the way.
