With the arrival of the Legion on Azeroth next week, World of Warcraft players will get to experience a truly world-encompassing series of events that are unlike any other presented in the game's twelve years. By utilizing new technology, these invasion "scenarios" take place in the larger outdoor world, a somewhat more complex group quest.
By utilizing some of the garrison building technology, developers are able to spawn demon camps that feature barracks, weaponry, troops and much more. In fact, a huge demon spire was placed in Westfall that proved the technology was viable in the outside world.
Over the course of the invasion leading up to the August 30th release of Legion, players will see increasing numbers of invasions and demons throughout all continents of Azeroth, even in the capital cities.
Demon invasions are set to begin on Tuesday, August 9th in North America, Wednesday, August 10th in Europe.
