Blizzard Entertainment is taking Bossland to the mat for cheat programs created for a number of the company's games. Blizzard is seeking $8.5M in damages to the tune of $200 per program purchased in the US. The number of sales in the US alone is alleged to be 42,818.

Bossland has created several bot programs that automate certain game play elements within World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. Blizzard recently won a suit filed in Bossland's home country of Germany.

Blizzard's suit is challenging Bossland with copyright infringement, unfair competition and violating the DMCA's anti-circumvention provision.

The $8.5M figure, says, Blizzard, "is only seeking the minimum statutory damages of $200 per infringement, for a total of $8,563.600.00. While Bllizzard would surely be entitled to seek a larger amount, Blizzard seeks only minimum statutory damages. Blizzard does not seek such damages as a "punitive" measure against Bossland or to obtain an unjustified windfall."
