Blizzard Stealthily Adds New Battle Pet + More WoW News -

Overnight, Blizzard sneakily added a brand new World of Warcraft battle pet named Shadow to the in-game pet journal with the Shop listed as his source. As of this writing, however, Shadow is not yet available for sale, though presumably this will come later today, perhaps after weekly maintenance is complete. Many players are speculating that proceeds from the sale of Shadow will be targeted for a charity drive devoted to hurricane relief as Cinder Kitten was in 2011 after Hurricane Sandy.

It's never quiet in World of Warcraft and there are several other interesting tidbits of news that have popped up over the last week or so:

Folks viewing the NA Regional Arena Championship Finals will be able to earn the "Patron of War" title in the game. This was first made available during last year's championships, though many players missed out. All you have to do is link your BattleNet account on Twitch and check out some of the action from Thursday, September 14th through Sunday, September 17th. Find out more here.

The Mythic Dungeon Invitational is set to kick off on Friday, September 15th. Thirty-two teams have been selected after participating in the Proving Ground period for two weeks. For the next three weekends, teams will compete against one another "head-to-head". Two teams from each region will advance through the single-elimination tournament. All of the action will take place on Twitch for the next three weekends, so head here to check local times and links.

The final portion of Argus opens today in NA (tomorrow in EU) that brings The Seat of the Triumverate dungeon into the game as well as the Netherlight Crucible that allows players to customize Artifact relics. In addition, new world quests will become available as well as new class hall missions for followers and much more.

Harness the power of Argus to activate the Netherlight Crucible aboard the Vindicaar, allowing you to augment your Artifact Relics. The Crucible can be used to strengthen and customize Relics, increasing their raw power and allowing players to choose from a set of additional powers, including a second Artifact Trait to improve.

Learn more at any of the links above.

How's your week in WoW so far?
