World of WarCraft developers have taken to the official forums with a pair of posts that lay out some of the details in the recent changes made to the Legion beta with regard to talents and improvements to draw distances in the game.
With Legion a little over 3 months away from release, the Blizzard team is still making significant changes in each beta build. In the latest update, a massive number of alterations and reorganization of the talent system have been applied. The developers have stated that the goal is to "give players meaningful choices" that allow them to play in a way that best suits their style.
Chadd "Celestalon" Nervig has written that:
As you may have guessed, these changes are going to require a cascade of other related changes, mostly around tuning. Not every talent row is equally valuable (nor are they intended to be), and with new talents competing with each other, adjustments will have to be made. Talents that moved, and their competition, will have to be retuned to become viable choices. Additionally, the overall strength of some specs in common situations will be adjusted to account for talents now offering more or less in those situations.
Posters in the forum thread generally agree with the design philosophy but find that the implementation is lacking, especially this late in the development process for Legion. You can read the full thread on the Battle.net forums.
A second post gives players some details about how the draw distances are changing in Legion. The post is filled with several visuals to show off graphical improvements. The new draw distance system would be applied throughout the entire game, not just in the Legion locations.
