Beta Phase 3 & PvP Server Policy -

A couple new announcements have been posted over on the World of Warcraft Community site.  The first concerns the beginning of next Beta Phase and includes several patch notes:

Level Cap Raised

The level cap has been increased to 45. New zones, quests, items and content have been added to accommodate the level increase along with the ability to purchase and ride mounts!

Race specific mounts are now available. A player can train in any mount; however, the skill points necessary to train for a mount assigned to a different race will cost significantly more skill points.

The Warlock spell to summon the Nightmare, a Warlock specific mount, is available as well. The Paladin's class specific mount, The Charger, will be available at a later date.

Wide Screen Support

Support for wide screen ratios (16:9, 16:10 and 5:4) have been added as a fullscreen choice. The video options have been enhanced to list individual display resolution modes. At this time, windowed mode will still be limited to a 4:3 ratio.

You can read the full patch notes here.

The second announcement concerns the PvP Server Policy:

""One who knows the enemy and knows himself will not be in danger in a hundred battles." - Sun Tzu

Evidence of epic battles can be found throughout the history of Azeroth, but never before has the threat of all-out war been so prevalent. Swords will clash and blood will flow, but as with any conflict, certain rules of engagement must be obeyed, even in the midst of heated battle. Understanding these rules will help determine the tactics you employ when confronting your foes.

The following guidelines are the basis of a code of conduct we expect players to follow when battling players of the same or opposing alliance. These guidelines will attempt to encompass any and all situations that may arise during PvP (Player vs. Player) combat. However, these guidelines are not exhaustive and there are sure to be situations that are not covered here. Due to this fact, we reserve the right to evaluate each issue on a case by case basis.

The PvP server is designed to allow open combat between members of the Horde and the Alliance. As such, players on this server have a greater ability to resolve issues on their own. Based on this, certain policies may be different from those on non-PvP servers. These differences are listed below.
