The 2017 World of Warcraft Arena Championship season will look quite different in the past with more teams able to take part on the regional level and more teams advancing to the finals held at Blizzcon. North America and Europe will each send a dozen teams to the championships, up from eight in 2016.

Also of interest is the fact that Arena teams will not be required to have minimum ranking in order to participate and are able to register in "open sign ups". Teams earn points by winning in qualifier cups and during sanctioned fan events.

Qualifying events will feature a $6,000 prize pool; Regional pools will reach $100,000 and the World Championship will have a $280,000 prize pool, up from $250,000 in 2016.

You can read the details on the World of Warcraft community site.
