A Newb’s Adventures In World of Warcraft - Week 4

Full disclosure: Battle for Azeroth code provided by Blizzard.

So yeah...I’ve been playing a lot of World of Warcraft in the last week. If you recall, I had just hit level 120 in my previous journal. I also felt like the mightiest dwarf in all of Azeroth. I was told by my WoW veteran friends that the “real” game doesn’t start until after I’ve hit 120. And, well, they were right.

I tried my first dungeon with my buddy Leif and quietly panicked my way through. I honestly didn’t know what to expect because, I mean, I don’t play World of Warcraft. So I went in with much trepidation and, thanks to a good group, came out the other end alright. Yes, I absolutely captured this experience. Since then, I’ve done multiple dungeons and man, they’re fun!

I also started doing World Quests to grind dat rep and increase my item level. Keep in mind, I knew absolutely nothing about item level until my friend at work explained it to me. And now, this is legit all I want to.

The World Quests can be repetitive sometimes, but overall, they’re enough for me to chase the carrot of higher level loot just around the corner. Blizzard have seriously mastered this.

I also played through the Pride of Kul Tiras questline. I found Jaina you guys. Once again, I felt like the mightiest dwarf in all of Azeroth. But then Katherine Proudmoore told me I need to defend Boralus against Priscilla Ashvane, and that’s a mythic dungeon so....yeah I’m still grinding to be able to partake in that one.

I also took down my first world boss! This was another panic-inducing moment, one accompanied by a roller-coaster of emotions. Upon killing the boss, I thought that I had collected three pieces of epic loot, only to get my hopes dashed that in fact, I did no such thing. View this for yourself.

Finally, I began the Warfronts quests and ran all around the Arathi Highlands killing bosses and completing quests. I also completed my first heroic dungeon which was...an experience since we grouped with an incredibly salty tank. I think some people just forget that this is all just a game.

I’m now item level 318 and am aiming to get to 320 so I can at least try the mythic Siege of  Boralus dungeon. I’ll probably panic again. Tune in next week for more exploits!
