World of Tanks: Mercenaries for both XBox One and PlayStation 4 has received a beefy new update that includes a new RTS mode, new game features and much more. The additions to content were made in response to player feedback on the UI and tank customization. Players also requested the return of Commander Mode, the RTS-style event.
Wargaming has announced World of Tanks Classic event in celebration of the game's eighth anniversary. The Classic server / event will begin with a on March 29th at midnight Pacific / 3:00 am Eastern and that will run through April 3rd. WoT: Classic will sport a separate client and server from the main game and will feature three "classical nations": USSR, Germany and the USA. The Type 59 will be showcased and "you won't find any French or Swedish autoloaders here".
When MMA fighter Aaron Pico enters the ring this weekend, he will be doing so with the fans of World of Tanks Blitz, Wargaming's mobile game based on the WoT franchise. He will be wearing specially branded shorts "featuring the iconic Blitz shield". According to Pico, the partnership is fitting since "[his] great grandpa was a tanker" and that, after playing the game, he's 'hooked'.
World of Tanks: Mercenaries players will be able to become toy tanks during the game's Winter Wonderland event that kicks off later today. During the "festive event", players will be party to a free tank giveaway, find new Premium tanks, receive special gifts during the 12 Days of Tanksmas Ops. The event will run from today through the end of December with tons of fun for all.
World of Tanks players who are also members of Twitch Prime can pick up some sweet loot including a Twitch-themed commander, emblems and medals. These items are available for PC World of Tanks players and for console players of World of Tanks: Mercenaries.
If you've seen Mad Max: Fury Road, you understand how awesome the vehicle designs are. Once the World of Tanks: Blitz Halloween event, Mad Games, kicks off, you'll be able to own a piece of Pound's work as well. Pound has designed a pair of new tanks that can be unlocked during the Mad Games event from October 17th to November 12th.
World of Tanks console players are receiving a massive update today with the launch of the Mercenaries content expansion. The new addition "dramatically transforms its most popular franchise" for PlayStation 4 and XBox One. Wargaming considers Mercenaries "a re-launch of the 15-million player strong F2P console MMO".
World of Tanks players can celebrate the ongoing FIFA World Cup by taking part in Tank Football with Italy's Gianluigi Buffon as the Commentator. The 3v3 matches take place in special arenas, including one inspired by the Luzhniki, the stadium that will host this year's World Cup finals.

Wargaming has announced a World of Tanks console-exclusive expansion called Mercenaries. It is expected to launch for PlayStation 4, XBox One and XBox 360 on June 26th. This is a free-to-all console players expansion that developers call the "largest and most encompassing expansion of single- and multiplayer content for the beloved armor-themed World War II massively multiplayer online game".
Gamasutra is reporting that rumors are beginning to spread that Wargaming's Seattle office will be closing and over a hundred employees will lose their jobs. You may remember that Wargaming Seattle was the new name given after the buyout of Gas Powered Games, developers of the Dungeon Siege and Supreme Commander series. We don't have any definitive word of the veracity of the growing rumor, but we have seen industry veterans posting job vacancies in their own companies to those displaced.
Wargaming is celebrating Pink Panther Day in World of Tanks: Blitz and the arrival of the oft-requested pink camouflage. Tankers can now deck their favorites out in bold-as-brass pink in order to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies.
World of Tanks players will be able to bring a little Warhammer 40K into the game with the arrival of the KV-2 tank decorated with the Valhallan Ragnarok camo as well as the BDR G1B with its Mordian style.
Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is coming to World of Tanks. Along with him, he brings eleven new Italian vehicles into the game, including a "never-before-seen autoreloader mechanic" into the game. The Italian line will feature a series of lightly armored vehicles, higher damage mid-tier vehicles and Tier VIII+ post-WWII designs that include the autoreloader mechanic.
