The Wizard101 site has been updated with a fun look back at the game's first decade of existence. Senior Producer Leah "Professor Falmea" Ruben begins the letter with a collection of memories of some of the game's most significant milestones over the past ten years including a comparison between Wizard101 at launch and where it is today.
TEN. Ten is a lot of just about anything. Ten Firecats can be a handful to keep track of and ten Fire Dragons will most certainly cause chaos! It’s also a wonderful and amazing amount of time to spend being a Professor in the Spiral, and we’re incredibly thrilled to be celebrating our TENTH ANNIVERSARY, well, all year, but officially next month on September 2nd. We would not be here without our fabulous and dedicated community, and we’re overjoyed to have you along for the ride, whether you’ve been around for ten days or all ten years!
From there, Ruben reminds players that the 10th anniversary event is ongoing with a number of neat things players can do and see for the next several weeks. Most notably, there's a party in the planning that is detailed through an online picture book that "tells the tale of our Ravenwood citizens getting ready for a big party".
The team has also released a 2-part video series of behind-the-scenes interviews and footage about the "making of" Wizard101.
Ruben wraps up the letter with a look at all of the things that have been added to the game since last month and it's not a short list: Hatchmaking & Pet Tame; New Skeleton Key bosses; Bad Juju changes; Magic Mirror Makeover; Photomancy; Azteca Fishing; More Monstrology; Awesome new CCGs & Cards; the revamp of Wizard City; Dworgyn makes way for Sparck; and the Steam release.
