Packed Full of Surprises

KingsIsle loves to throw in some secret goodies when an update is brought into the live realm ... and the summer update was no different. Players were pleasantly surprised when they found two new packs for sale in the Crown Shop.

The Immortal's Lore Pack

The Immortal's Lore Pack was actually announced shortly after it was discovered, but not before players got the chance to explore it for themselves. The highlight of this pack is the opportunity to train 3 new aquilan themed spells.

  • Athena Battle Sight - Myth spell that deals 520 damage and gives you a -35% shield (5 pips)
  • Hephaestus - Fire spell that deals 425-475 damage followed by a Wyldfire (5 pips)
  • Queen Calypso - Storm spell that puts a +20% trap on your opponent directly before attacking them for 445-505 damage (4 pips)

In addition to the new spells, the Immortal's Lore Pack also gives players a chance to receive the brand new Mechanical Owl pet, Aquilan House Guests, Aquilan armor and weapon, reagents, snacks, and treasure cards.

Packs Too Risky?

Have your heart set on those spells but don't like the risky part of packs? Have no fear! The 3 new aquilan spells from the Immortal's Lore Pack can also be obtained by crafting and as a drop from the Loremaster. With the Loremaster already dropping all of the previous hoard pack spells and then some, the chances of snagging the aquilan spell that you're after is probably slim. However, don't let that stop you. After all, maybe today is your lucky day?

The most straightforward and reliable way of getting your hands on any of the new spells is to craft them. All of the recipes can be learned from Grady, who resides in Dun Scaith, The Wyrd, otherwise known as the Indigo Giant's lair. Beware though, the recipes do supply a bit of a challenge.

Farley's Gardening Pack

If you're an avid gardener, you'll love this new pack. It gives players a chance to obtain plenty of seeds, a new Bejeweled Planter, and perhaps most intriguing - the new Jewel Blossom plants. Just like standard jewels, the Jewel Blossom seeds come in 5 different shapes (Circle, Square, Star, Tear, and Triangle). Because this pack is still very new and hasn't been officially announced or covered by KingsIsle, not much is known about it yet. We'll just have to wait and see what the elder Jewel Blossom harvests hold!

Being the completionist myth wizard I am, I foresee much crafting in my future. Hopefully Farley's Gardening Pack has some exciting undiscovered rewards from those new seeds. Have you found any? Let me know what you think of the new packs/spells in the comments below.
