January Producer's Letter

The latest edition of the Wizard101 Producer's Letter has been posted by Leah "Professor Falmea" Ruben. In it, Ruben takes a look at the year that was and gives a small peek at the future. Ruben also reveals the results of the 'Favorite Update' poll that devs ran with the community.


UK Beta Begins

The KingsIsle team and Gameforge have announced that the beta phase of Wizard101 has launched in the United Kingdom! Players interested in signing on for the beta need to visit the game's official UK site. Gameforge and KingsIsle have plans to localize Wizard101 specifically for the European market.


Gardening Now Live

KingsIsle and the Wizard101 team have announced that the new gardening system is now in place on all live servers. In addition, a new plant, The Giving Tree, has been added to the Crown Shop with an altruistic feature. For each sale, KingsIsle will donate the net proceeds, evenly divided, to two Texas organizations devoted to helping children: the Austin Children's Shelter located in Austin, Texas, and Children's Medical Center at Legacy, a pediatric hospital located in Plano, Texas.


Hoe Hoe Hoe for Gardening!

In a recent conversation with KingsIsle's Fred Howard, MMORPG.com News Editor Suzie Ford had the opportunity to learn about the brand new Gardening system that is now live on the public test server. Gardening will doubtless arrive on live servers during the holiday season 2010. Mini-Games Hit the Web

Wizard101 players now have the chance to play their favorite mini-games on the Net with the chance to win in-game swag, game codes and gold just for doing so. The site, KIFreeGames.com, has officially launched with mini games Dueling Diego, Sorcery Stones and Doodle Dug. Fans can also download mobile ringtones, coloring pages for the kids and desktop backgrounds. There's even a link to a Wizard Blox game for iOS devices.


Epic Bundle Cards Shipped

KingsIsle has announced that the Epic Bundle Game Cards have shipped to GameStop stores around North America. These new prepaid game cards are $39.00 but offer players a host of in-game premium items and gives players a month of free game time or 5,000 Crowns.


Celestia May Arrive Oct. 27th

According to a short and sweet post on the official Wizard101 expansion page, players are being encouraged to head to the public test realm to try out Celestia in the next 24 hours. According to the post, "if all goes well", the expansion may finally arrive on all servers as early as Wednesday, October 27th.

Celestia Arrives on Test Server

KingsIsle has announced that the upcoming Celestia expansion has arrived on the Wizard 101 public test server. Players who have defeated Malistaire and who have reached level 48 can check out the new content which raises the level cap to 60 and includes a host of new spells. Celestia takes players underwater to adventure in what KingsIsle calls 'the most ambitious content expansion since launch'.


Celestia & Hallowe'en

KingsIsle has announced that two big events are coming to Wizard101 this month: The annual Hallowe'en event and the launch of the high level world, Celestia. With Celestia's launch, the level cap will rise to 60 with new spells and content. Players can get a sneak peek at the underwater world through the Selena Gomez quest already in the game. Celestia will arrive on the PTS soon and Hallowe'en will begin soon!


Gaming Goes Mainstream

If there has been any doubt in anyone's mind about the power of gaming, look no further than KingsIsle's announcement that it is partnering up with Disney star and recording artist Selena Gomez for an in game promotion. In his latest column, MMORPG.com's Garrett Fuller takes a look at how gaming has truly gone mainstream.


Celebrating Two Great Years

KingsIsle is preparing to celebrate its second birthday with the launch of the new zone called Celestia. Celestia is set to launch a bit later this fall and a new quest will show up this month to get players prepared. Celestia will raise the level cap and introduce new spells and head under the sea for adventure.


Headed to Europe

Wizard101 developer KingsIsle has announced a new partnership with GameForge. Under the agreement, GameForge will publish Wizard101 in Europe in late 2010. As it currently stands, Wizard101 boasts over ten million registered users so the move to bring the game to a larger international audience can only boost those numbers even higher.


New Producer & Celestia Info

Wizard101 has a new producer in the form of Leah "Dalia Falmea" Ruben. Ruben has been around the KingsIsle clan since 2007 as an associate producer but is now taking on the reins of Wizard101. Ruben has written her first producer's letter and leaked out a bit of information about the upcoming expansion, Celestia. Read on!
