Today marks the end of the rocky life of WildStar. After failing to live up to lofty expectations over the years. Carbine Studios announced in September that the game would be shut down and that the studio would be closing. Since the announcement, players have been able to enjoy the full game without restriction and with a number of in-game events firing off for the last time. In addition, Carbine provided fans a look at the content that was never released as part of a bittersweet farewell.

As WildStar enters its final two weeks of existence, the team wanted to provide its community with a peek at the stories that we'll never see in the game. Players would have traveled to Omechron's Keep to meet the Primeval Omechron and set off on a journey of discovery about the creation of Genesis Prime. It's an article packed with lore and concept art and a peek into the game's future that now, sadly, will never come.

The WildStar site has been updated with the precise date that the game will shut down for good: November 28th. The final update has been deployed that turns off all real-money transactions and offers players refunds for recent purchases. In addition, a number of events will take place between now and the final day of service including Residential Renovation, Shade's Eve, Protostar's Gala Winterfest Extravaganza and a special final day event for "some fun" with the devs.

From September 21st to September 28th, WildStar players can take on the new Boss Hunter Challenge. While the game may be closing in the near future, the event offers players a chance to revisit the game and to defeat the most awesome world boss monsters and legendary champions found in the game.

WildStar developer Carbine Studios has announced that it is shutting down and that what remains of the developers are "in the process of identifying the teams that will be doing the work to bring WildStar to a close".

Wildstar is celebrating its fourth birthday and pulling out all the stops for the entire month of June during its Starfall Anniversary Celebration. From June 1st to June 30th, several "lucrative bonus events on a weekly rotation" will be released for fun and "out-of-this-world" benefits. Players will also receive a special reward pack delivered to their mailboxes and retrievable every week just by logging in.

The WildStar site has been updated with the 2018 State of the Universe penned by Chad 'Pappy' Moore. In it, he takes a look back at 2017 before addressing the game's future. Players have been wondering about WildStar going forward as NCSoft has been closing underperforming games like MXM. "Carbine and NCSoft are continuing to support the game for the foreseeable future" Moore wrote.

If you're a WildStar player, you've got a lot to look forward to throughout the month of December. All the fun begins on December 8th and the Residential Renovation challenge and continues with Winterfest (December 18 - January 1). You can also gain wicked experience in the Double XP X-Plosion event running from December 29th to January 1st.

WildStar players logging in from November 1-5, 2017 will be gifted a free character boost to instantly make a level 50 character. The Free 50 Frenzy is a one-time use offer, is only available to players who didn't take advantage of the previous event and only one boost per account is allowed.

When WildStar is updated on September 6th, one of the biggest new features heading into the game is the Communities Housing System. Using the new features of the Communities system, players will be able to "join" housing plots together and share space with friends and guild mates.

The WildStar team has announced that the next major update, Homecoming, will be ready to deploy on September 6th. The site has a brief overview of what you can expect including Communities, essentially "neighborhoods" where players can work together to create and build a unique environment. These include "expanded social features that affords players the cosmic opportunity to relocate their homes to shared land."

The earliest iteration of the next WildStar prime raid has worked its way on to the game's PTR. The Genetic Archives Prime Level 1 is ready for testing and will be released later in 2017. The team is looking for groups of players to assist with focused testing events. Several time slots have been provided for groups or guilds to work in so that the development team can observe progression through the raid.

WildStar will be updated later today with patch v1.7.2 that brings Prime Raids into the game. Prime Raids give players incentive to return to older raid tiers. Prime Raids begin at Prime Level 1 that are similar to existing raid progression, but with a twist. Each raid and Prime Level beyond 1 increases the challenges and rewards over "normal" raiding.

WildStar will be updating today with the v1.7.1 patch that brings a number of new features into the game including three new Prime Instances, PvE Leaderboards, the shared realm bank, and new fortunes from Madame Fay.a

The WildStar PTR has been updated with v1.7.1 that brings a bunch of new content on board for testing. Included in the updated PTR version of the game are PvE leaderboards, expanded Prime content, the shared realm bank and new stuff at Madame Fay's.
