Early Access Alpha on Track for October with Big Changes in Store As Tech Alpha Ends

The Wild West Online team has posted a lengthy article on its Facebook page to let players know that the technical alpha has ended with last weekend's event. Rather than continue for another weekend, developers felt that they had enough feedback to cull through to allow the team to make some significant time to fix bugs and bring new features on board. In an interesting side note, devs say that refunds were handed out but most typically to players who spent little time in game.

Around 10% of all players who purchased the game have used this refund option, and we’d like to say that we’re quite surprised and proud of that number. Back when we presented the plan to offer unconditional refunds until Technical Alpha Test 2, our business team and investors said we’re crazy and we should expect at least a 50% refund rate. Instead, we ended up with roughly 10%.

Thank you for believing in us, and our game!

Another interesting thing is that people who refunded game were predominantly players who spent little or no time playing the game, so we feel that we were right to believe in the idea of dedicated players being willing to invest their time and money in helping us making great product for THEM.

Among those who played and left, many expressed a willingness to return when specific gameplay issues are addressed, and we urge those folks to keep an eye on some of the new stuff that will be rolling out between now and the end of the year. We think you'll be inspired to come back.

You can read the full update on the Wild West Online Facebook page.

Thanks for the tip, WNxbadboy3!
