Wasteland 2 Overview
Wasteland 2, a sequel to the 1988 RPG Wasteland, is a standout in crowdfunding success stories, with over 70,000 Kickstarter backers. Just like the original, it is set to be a party-based game with turn-based tactical combat. After global nuclear war, the destruction and subsequent impact have left little behind. Set in a post-apocalyptic alternate history timeline, players will take on the role of a member of the Desert Rangers, a group of survivors out to help others in the desert wasteland.
Like the original game, you'll have a party of players and can recruit NPCs to join you. Wasteland 2 will feature high customization of the player Rangers, and deep scripted story content. Known as the precursor to the Fallout series, Wasteland introduced having to make some difficult decisions within a persistent game world, and the sequel aims to continue that legacy. The InXile team working on Wasteland 2 is also notable for the number of returning members from the original game.
