The latest State of the Crusade letter has been posted on the Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade site. The letter discusses several big topics including the notion that game design is influenced by change, something the team has embraced when it comes to combat.
In addition, the discussion heads to the topic of the in-game store, something that many fans are concerned with. To that end, several key points are mentioned:
- The store will not have better items than found in-game, just different ones
- The store will have exclusive items, which are not available elsewhere, but their differences will be largely cosmetic
- The store will have unlocks, which could be something like being able to play Necrons and these will cost, because we need to develop, run and operate the game for the next 10 years
- You will be able to attain the in-game currency and some RTPs in-game
- You will have fun without having to use the store
- You will still want to use the store
