Month-Long 'Chronicles of World War II' Event Launches -

War Thunder players will be able to take part in a month-long event called "The Chronicles of World War II" that is dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of Victory Day. The event will run from now through May 10th and feature new battles on both land and in the air. Players will travel to cities in Europe, the arid deserts of Africa, the chilly Russian environments and to the balmy South Pacific.

Each even takes part in chronological order and includes the invasion of the USSR by Germany, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the Battle of Midway and the Battle of Stalingrad to name a few. The final battle will take place on May 9-10 that leads to the outskirts of Berlin and to the steps of the Reichstag itself.

During the entire series, participants will be able to earn ‘Chronicle Rewards’ by performing various tasks of choice, such as destroying a certain number of enemy vehicles. For every three tasks performed, players will receive a new and unique decoration for their vehicles. For six, the first unique vehicles are available: The U.S. PV-2D attack aircraft and a Soviet version of the British Matilda tank equipped with a 76mm F-96 cannon. Then, after twelve, players can obtain the British heavy assault tank A33 Excelsior and an anti-tank modification of the Soviet Yak-3T fighter.

You can check out the calendar of events on the War Thunder site.
