Grinding Gear Games has made the three week delay of Path of Exile 2’s early access start just a bit more manageable with the release of a lengthy 30+ minute gameplay demo video featuring Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida.
PoE 2’s game director Jonathan Rogers sat down with Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida to take him through a slice of the game at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, showcasing the game’s Mercenary class, maps, skills and bosses in couch co-op. At TGS, Grinding Gear Games also gave a tour of the game to renowned Japanese action game producer Koji Igarashi, best known for his work on the Castlevania series and, more recently, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Rogers and Yoshida discussed plenty over the course of the video, with some more notable details including the fact the game will feature an over 50 hour campaign, 100 bosses, and 100 areas. For context, Path of Exile currently features 158 base maps and 32 unique maps as well as roughly 70 bosses.
Path of Exile 2 will be a bit smaller than its predecessor at launch, but it still sounds like it will have plenty of content for players to tear through when early access begins on December 6.
