Total War Saga: Troy Receives Mythos Expansion

The Mythos expansion for Total War Saga: Troy is out now allowing you to embrace the legends of Ancient Greece.

During the Mythos expansion, you’ll be able to take part in one of three new expeditions to track, fight, and tame legendary beasts of legend. These include the Cerberus – a vicious hound of Hades that guards the abyss, the Griffin – a deadly master of the skies, and the Hydra – a nine-headed serpent spreading poison.

You’ll be able to recruit multiple new units including the legendary Arimaspoi and Shades from the underworld. You’ll also be able to recruit the mythological redesigns for iconic units such as the Centaur, Giants, and Minotaur.

Additionally, HISTORICAL mode is a brand new game mode free for all Total War Saga: Troy players. This new mode overhauls Troy’s main features so that players can experience the Aegean conflict from a traditional, grounded-in-reality perspective.

Some changes you’ll encounter include wars being fought between generals and their bodyguards instead of one-man armies wielding the powers of gods. Additionally, a new Administration mechanic will be available in each game mode to help with the management of their Aegean empires.

There are three versions available for purchase if you’re interested:

  • STANDARD EDITION (TROY base game) – 25% off
  • MYTHIC EDITION (TROY base game + MYTHOS expansion) – 30% off
  • HEROIC EDITION (TROY base game + MYTHOS expansion + Amazons DLC + Ajax & Diomedes DLC) – 40% off

Earlier this year, Total War Saga: Troy received Ajax and Diomedes in a faction pack. If you’re curious about the game, be sure to check out our impressions from our hands-on preview. While you’re at it, catch up on our interview with the developers.
