The Making of Mei's 'Rise & Shine' Video

Blizzard has put out a new retrospective look about the recently unveiled Overwatch animated short, "Rise & Shine". In it, viewers learned the backstory of Mei and how she came to be part of the group headed up by Winston. 

Jeff Kaplan talks about storytelling and introducing players to the universe to give perspective and an emotional connection to the characters. 

"Who is Mei the human being and how did she become the hero she is." according to Jeff Kaplan. "She's that more normal person that is put in a situation where she realizes that she is, in fact, a hero."

It's a terrific look at behind-the-scenes creation of a one-of-a-kind character.
