The Elder Scrolls Online team has put out a new 6-minute video developer diary to "deep dive" into the creation of the Necromancer that will be coming with the Elsweyr expansion. Necros bring powerful abilities and a unique playstyle to ESO.
The dev team had three goals when creating the Necro:
- to be faithful to both the lore and player fantasy about what Necromancy was in Elder Scrolls;
- to ensure that the Necromancer had unique mechanics -- it needed to not be a Sorcerer with undead pets or a Dragon Knight with undead-themed abilities;
- to make sure the Necromancer kept its identity.
