The Ship of Heroes team has sent out a new video to showcase the day / night cycle in Apotheosis City. The video offers viewers a time-lapse look at how lighting and "emissives on buildings and cars" change based on the time of day.
The video follows the footsteps of Meltdown as he races through the city and reveals NPCs, cars, a train and some enemies along the way.
The video marks an important milestone in the development of the game, and is the last publicly-announced hurdle to be overcome before the anticipated login test and raid tests expected in the next few months.
The bulk of this video was recorded in-game using a client-server arrangement to provide the same appearance that a player will experience, except for a few scenes taken in the editor to provide better camera angles. Apparently the SoH devs are fans of the John Romero philosophy that the game should always be ready to ship.
