Riot Games’ upcoming free to play League of Legends fighter spinoff, 2XKO, will have an alpha playtest this August.
Dubbed the 2XKO Alpha Lab Playtest, players can register now for the playtest which will run between August 8 and August 19. The closed alpha test will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 and will only be available in participating regions, including USA, Canada, UK, France, Brazil, Japan, and Mexico.
Registering for the playtest takes only a couple of minutes as hopeful testers will need to complete a short survey. Once registered, players will have to wait for Riot to send out an invite and there are no guarantees to receive one. It’s not the end of the line for those who don’t receive an invite, however. All selected testers will be given a referral link they can use to invite a friend into the alpha.
2XKO is a 2v2 fighter featuring characters from League of Legends, including fan favorites such as Ahri, Ekko, and Jinx. The game was formerly known as ‘Project L’ but was renamed to 2XKO earlier this year.
2XKO will release sometime in 2025 on the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 platforms.
