Starfield’s first story expansion, Shattered Space, arrives in roughly two weeks and Bethesda has dropped a nine minute deep dive trailer to give players a better look at what’s in store.
Shattered Space puts the spotlight on House Va’Ruun, a theocratic interstellar government in Starfield’s Settled Systems that worships a deity called the Great Serpent. Players hear of and run into House Va’ruun throughout their experiences in Starfield, but Shattered Space will truly flesh things out with a handcrafted and self contained story. The entirety of Shattered Space will take place on the planet Va’ruun’kai.
The basic premise of the story is that something has gone awry on the Va’ruun home world resulting in catastrophic destruction of the Va’ruun capital of Dazra. Naturally, this tragic event has led to the most powerful amongst the Va’ruun to vie for control amidst the chaos.
Players who own the Digital Premium Edition of Starfield will have Shattered Space included with their purchase. For everyone else, the expansion can be purchased for $30 outright or for $35 the Digital Premium Edition Upgrade offers the expansion as well as the Constellation Skin Pack, digital artbook, soundtrack, and 1,000 Creation Credits.
Starfield: Shattered Space arrives on PC and Xbox Series X|S on September 30.
