Mega Crit Reveals Slay the Spire 2 at the 2024 Triple-i Initiative Indie Showcase

The indie roguelike deckbuilder that took the gaming world by storm in 2017 is finally getting a sequel. Mega Crit games revealed Slay the Spire 2 at the 2024 Triple-I Initiative’s indie showcase.

The game, which will enter PC Early Access sometime in 2025, will feature three classes, including fan favorites the Ironclad and the Silent. A third new class, the Necrobinder, will round out the roster. We don’t know much about the Necrobinder just yet but the few details we have describe it as “a wandering lich who seeks to bind the forgotten corpse.” She’ll also “call upon her trusty left hand, Osty, in combat.” It’s plainly obvious the Necrobinder is a necromancer of some sort and will leverage some sort of minions in combat, especially with her low starting health being at just 35.

The trailer itself was animated without any cuts to gameplay, so those looking to get an idea for what the game might look like in action can only rely on a few in-game screenshots released by the developer for now.

We’re looking forward to losing many more hours of our lives once Slay the Spire 2 enters early access next year. For now, players interested can wishlist the game on Steam.
