Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is still alive. Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room have released a proof of life in the form of a new trailer that highlights some of the various Kindred players will encounter throughout their adventure.
The fairly short trailer showcases characters such as the foul mouthed Brujah Sheriff, Benny, the Nosferatu Herald, Tolly, the scatterbrained Tremere Researcher, Safia, and the Ventrue Ex-Prince, Lou.
These all look to be colorful characters that should be fun to interact with, especially with Bloodlines 2’s dialogue choice system highlighted in Dev Diary #15, which aims to create a conversation system that marries strategy with morality, similar to its predecessor.
In Bloodlines 2, characters don’t simply like or dislike you based on your conversations. The dev diary on dialogue lays out a system that appears to be more nuanced, with characters who have preferences and biases that are deeply rooted in their identities and motivations. In order to properly navigate these relationships to get the desired outcome, players will need to understand how each character works and take an approach that best fits.
Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is set to arrive sometime in the first half of 2025.
