Mark Kern and his Crixa Labs team have pushed out the first developer update for their upcoming game called EM-8ER, the so-called "spiritual successor to Firefall". The first announcement Kern makes is that the original Firefall composer, Michael Bross, is back and working with Crixa on the score for EM-8ER.
The video also shows off some very early gameplay footage of a figure running along before it encounters a large mech that Kern calls "badass".
Indie game, Em-8ER, is a online, open-world co-op game: a massive planetary invasion pitting players against an AI controlled invading army. Featuring furious shooter combat with a mechs vs Kaiju (giant monsters) theme. Build bases, craft your weapons and push back the enemy to uncover and terraform more of the planet designated Em-8ER!
It's a fantastic early look at the game, and a chance to hear the beginnings of an epic score. Check it out and let us know what you think.
