Welcome to this week's installment of MMORPG.com's Quick 5. This week we've seen a return of one of gaming's legacy developers, delays for MMO reveals and "road maps."
This has been a big week in games, as we've seen Path of Exile's most recent expansion hit PCs today, with console versions coming next week. Additionally, we previewed the latest adventure of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts in Persona 5 Strikers.
ZeniMax Online Studios made news by delaying their upcoming Gates of Oblivion reveal for The Elder Scrolls Online to January 26th, but they are also addressing the missing champion point issue going back to November's update. Speaking of updates, Cyberpunk 2077's developer CD Projekt Red gave fans one...sort of. The team released a "road map" devoid of any dates to make it actionable by their fans, but the co-founder also did publicly apologize on camera for the state of the game.
Speaking of games, Lucasfilm Games is back and has announced a few new ones coming from the studio. Notably, though, they aren't coming from Electronic Arts, the company that has had the exclusive liscence to make Star Wars games until now it seems. Coming from Ubisoft, we'll see an open-world Star Wars game in the future, and Bethesda is working on an Indiana Jones game. EA is still making games in the universe though, but it remains to be seen if more studios will be getting into the action down the road.
