Roberts Space Industries have released its latest Inside Star Citizen: Mission Statement video focused on Alpha 3.24. In the video, the developers discuss the new cargo missions featured in its Blockade Runner event.
In Blockade Runner, players will work together to recover stolen cargo from nefarious pirates and return it to its rightful owners in return for various rewards. These missions will require players not only to destroy ships, but also to board enemy ships to retrieve the cargo.
The new missions are said to lay the groundwork for new mission types, including high volume cargo hauling for players who captain some of the game’s larger ships.
3.24 also adds freight elevators and hauling missions, giving players more efficient methods for unloading cargo in one place and optimizing profitability.
Speaking of profitability, back in June Roberts Space Industries banned over 600 Star Citizen accounts for using a currency exploit that enabled the duplication of credits. The dupe was discovered shortly after Alpha patch 3.23.1a dropped. Some players even went as far as selling the duplicated currency for real world money. Unsurprisingly, RSI didn’t release many details on the situation, but did note that they had completed an investigation and suspended the accounts involved. The duplicated currency was removed from the game.
