Greedfall 2: The Dying World launches into early access on September 24. Publisher Nacon and developer Spiders announced the date earlier this week via a new trailer. Back in March, we learned that the game would enter early access sometime in the summer, so it appears the game will miss that window by a couple of days.
That previous announcement also came with a roadmap, outlining what will be included in the early access launch and detailing in broad strokes what will come in futures updates. When GreedFall 2 enters early access in September, players can look forward to playing through the first chapters of the game’s main quest, recruiting the game’s first companions, and exploring Teer Fradee, Thynia, and Uxantis. Later, Spiders will add new regions, companions, local and main quests, skills, customization options, and more.
One of the major improvements between the first game and its sequel will be a complete overhaul of its combat systems. The first game leaned more on action combat, while GreedFall 2 will place more emphasis on tactics with what appears to be a real time with pause system one might find in games such as Dragon Age Origins, Pillars of Eternity, or the original Baldur’s Gate titles.
