Sucker Punch is back with a sequel to its 2020 samurai smash hit Ghost of Tsushima. Announced at Sony’s September State of Play, the sequel is titled Ghost of Yotei.
We don’t know a whole lot so far when it comes to the game’s story, but what we do know is that that the player character Atsu is female and that the game is set for release sometime in 2025 on the PlayStation 5.
Atsu looks to be capable of much of what Jin could pull off in Ghost of Tsushima, but from the footage we’ve seen it looks like she’s got a couple of new tricks up her sleeve as well.
Erika Ishii, known for their portrayal of K in Misfits and Magic Season 2 as well as a voice option for the player character of Rook in the upcoming Dragon Age: The Veilguard, will lend their voice as Atsu in Ghost of Yotei. Ishii has also voiced roles in Apex Legends, Destiny 2, Deathloop, and others.
The trailer was accompanied by an official PlayStation blog post, in which Sucker Punch’s Andrew Goldfarb revealed that the events of Ghost of Yotei will take place over 300 years after the events of Tsushima.
