The long-awaited Patch 6.3 finally has a release date, with Final Fantasy XIV seeing the update coming on January 10th. The new patch, titled "Gods Revel, Lands Tremble," was detailed in full today during a Letter from the Producer LIVE, which highlighted the new content, such as an upcoming raid, new Ultimate challenge, and more.
Patch 6.3 will see a new dungeon, Lapis Manalis, which sees the Warrior of Light pursue voidsent to an abandoned village near Garlemald where the Reaper arts were once practiced. The main story quest additions will also have players searching for the voidsent, meeting up with a woman named Zero along the way.

She returns with them to the Source for a time, and upon recovering from their recent trials, they prepare to continue the search for Azdaja. But an unforeseen threat bars their path..."
Alongside the new dugeon, Final Fantasy XIV will be seeing the addition of a new alliance raid, Myths of the Realm, Part 2: Euphrosyne, and a new Ultimate challenge against Omega. There is also a new Unreal battle, Containment Bay P1T6, which will challenge players as they will face off against a Goddess.
Job changes are also coming to Final Fantasy XIV, and the fansite Nova Crystallis has once again done a stellar job translating the Japanese presentation into English. According to the LIVE letter, there will be some major adjustments to the Paladin, including improving its ability to do burst damage. Rotations for the Paladin have also been shortened, which should have the effect of being able to deal damage with instant cast spells while also maintaining its role as a tank in a party.
Island Sanctuary will also be getting some love here, with new item rewards, new materials, crops, animals and more being added to the MMO. Also, Final Fantasy XIV housing fans can rejoice as new neighborhoods are coming to the Mist, Lavender Beds, The Goblet, Shirogane and Empyreum. Housing demolition will recommence with the patch as well.
