The original Fallout games have inspired fans to build their own MMOs on a system called FOnline. As is usually the norm in PC modding, these projects are comprised of several groups of volunteers, modders, and developers, according to PCGamesN.
One such game in development, FOnline 3 is currently being led by an individual going by the name KompreSor. He told PCGamesN over Discord that FOnline 3 is eventually going to replace the now-abandoned FOnline Reloaded.
Based on the FOnline engine, FOnline 3 is attempting to capture the visual style of the original Fallout games from yore. PCGamesN notes that the visual similarity between FOnline 3 and the original Fallout games is so uncanny that they are uncertain about the legality of the fan-made effort.
