Everspace 2 Receives New Star System in Zharkov: The Vortex Update

Zharkov: The Vortex is the latest update to Everspace 2 and it’s out now as the second major content release for the space shooter currently in Early Access.

Zharkov: The Vortex brings with it a brand new star system a new spaceship class, companion, main and side missions, activities, challenges, in addition to more than 120 improvements across the board.

You’ll play as Adam, a former clone pilot. You’ll dive into the questionable Grady & Brunt mining operation as you work to reveal secrets leading to mysteries of The Ancients. You’ll also learn how the factions in the game are all connected to one another.

Also expect a new companion in Tareen the Okkar Trader. Tareen will join you as the homebase quartermaster. You can leverage Tareen to expand your storage capabilities to carry more ships in the hangar.

The Vanguard is the new light fighter class. Described as a lightweight, highly maneuverable reconnaissance ship, it’s meant to be a speedy and crafty for such situations.

Also included as part of Zharkov: The Vortex are the main mission in addition to several side missions for your adventures. During your questing, you can check out the new gear like the  new Fusion Hook which lets you turn quickly through asteroid fields.

There’s also new Corrosion, Armorbreaker, Shieldbreaker, and Destabilizer missiles and Web and Corrosion mine launchers on hand.  The update has also added English voice acting for dialog added since the previous Contracts/Hinterlands update

Additionally, there are tons of new activities, new music, ship colors, and much more. Check out the trailer above. Everspace 2 launched into Early Access and GeForce Now back in January. Since then, it’s received several updates. The first major update brought a new boss, classes, and much more.
