EVE Online is continuing its push towards its first of two expansions this year, Viridian, which is out later this month. This time the CCP Games team is showcasing some ways in which Upwell Structures are getting a little more personal with some more customization options.
With Uprising, heraldry in EVE Online became more personal, with ships able to showcase their Alliance or Corporation allegiance with emblems. However, with Viridian Upwell Structures are getting even more personal with a new tool that effectively lets you "dye" your structure.
This new Heraldry system for structures, dubbed the Super-Kerr Induced Nanocoating Resequencer, or SKINR, is introduced, allowing players to change the look of their structure by customizing the color for the cost of some EverMarks.
"Structures are among the most valuable assets any player corporation in EVE could own. Some are places people call home, safe havens to relax and socialize, and others can be major industrial hubs buzzing with activity. Structures are also deployed on the frontlines of warzones to serve as staging points, often bearing witness to gruesome space battles. Regardless of how long these structures endure or what their purpose may be, the corporation that owns them ought to be able to display their colors on them, cementing their identity in the landscape of New Eden. This will bring more than just increased variety and color in space, it will foster a sense of belonging to a corporation, and a feeling of pride when players see their majestic structure displaying their corporation’s colors – as well as fueling the desire to remove that of their enemy’s from the warzone! "
At launch there will be 90 different "nanocoatings" to personalize structures, granting the corporation a SKIN license of sorts for 30, 90, and 180 days, costing EverMarks from the corporation. With the new corporation tools allowing for a tax of EverMarks corporation-wide as well it'll make it easier for corporations to keep up the License fee as well.
