ESO Blackwood's Console Launch Today Receives New Trailer

After Elder Scrolls Online’s Blackwood released on PC, Mac, and Stadia last week, it’s the turn of the consoles today. Check out the all-new trailer for Blackwood as the chapter releases on console.

The trailer features Eveli who you came across if you played through the Prologue quest to Blackwood. Blackwood itself takes us to Cyrodiil and brings a bunch of new features to Elder Scrolls Online. The biggest feature may just be the new companion system. You can choose between two companions, Bastian and Mirri, and have them adventure alongside you. You’ll be able to kit them out, select their skills and skills rotation, and have them level with you.

If you missed the reveal event for the Gates of Oblivion year-long adventure, you can catch up here. Gates of Oblivion also includes the Flames of Ambition dungeon DLC which introduced The Cauldron and Black Drake Villa.

In fact, our review in progress of Blackwood on PC just went live yesterday. If you missed that, take a read here. Our review in progress touches on the companions, the few main quests, the overall story so far, and our initial thoughts on the Blackwood region itself. Stay tuned for our full review.

Keep in mind, however, that despite the console launch of Blackwood today, ESO Console Enhanced will not be launching alongside it. That has been delayed to June 15. Finally, check out patch notes for Update 30 if you missed it last week, and be sure to catch our interview with Creative Director Rich Lambert as we discussed Elder Scrolls Online with him.
