E3 2021: Stranger Of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Revealed, Brings Big Swords And Chaos To PlayStation, Xbox And PC

A new type of Final Fantasy was officially unveiled during the Square Enix Presents showcase of E3 2021. Stranger Of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin (Yes, that is the FULL name) is coming in 2022 to PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

The reveal trailer shows protagonists weilding the series' ever popular massive swords against foes, showcasing its action combat that looks reminiscent of Team Ninja's games. And it should, since Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo are back working with Square Enix on this title, having worked with the Final Fantasy  team before on Dissidia

If this isn't the first you're hearing of Origin, you're not alone, as rumors and reports circulated last month that Square Enix could be revealing a new FF game.

The trailer today really didn't give much information about Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, but instead apparently "chaos" will play a role?  It looks as though you'll have some team mates to help you, and hopefully you can customize your look and wardrobe because.....yeah....

You can check out the full reveal trailer in the embed above. Square Enix has a more detailed breakdown, as well as thoughts from every major team member involved, including Final Fantasy veteran developer Tetsuya Nomura. Oh, and if you have a PlayStation 5, you can check out a trial version starting now through June 24th.
