Today during Gamescom Opening Night Live, Pearl Abyss showed off a long stretch of its upcoming creature collecting online game, DokeV. The new trailer shows long stretches of gameplay, from snowy mountains to a large, urban city.
At the center of it all is the player, riding around on skateboards, slinging through the air like Spider-man, all set to an energetic KPop track. It's an interesting aesthetic - hyper realistic visuals in the background with cartoonish looking character models, all rendered with the same high fidelity Pearl Abyss is known for in their major title, Black Desert Online.
The trailer itself shows off some of the creatures, such as llama-looking Dokebi (the in-universe name for the creatures themselves). The official channel states these creatures live "side by side with humans and encourage people's dreams from which they gain stregnth." According to Pearl Abyss, the Dokebi are legendary creatures from Korean mythology and folklore, representing world passions and dreams of the humans that live among them.
You can check out the trailer in the embed above. While the Gamescom footage is over four minutes long, showcasing combat, exploration and more, it doesn't list a release date, as the open-world creature-collecting game is still in development by the studio.
