When it comes to developing blockchain games, many times all we get to hear about is how the blockchain portion of the game is so revolutionary, that it often feels like gameplay is secondary. In this episode of MMONFT, we dive into everything game related in Ember Sword with Bright Star Studios founder and Ember Sword executive producer Loren Roosendaal.
Ember Sword is shaping up to be a huge game. With four enormous regions planned to roll out eventually, each with their own distinct design and lore and an action packed MOBA inspired combat system, it all feels like the next evolution to games like RuneScape and Albion Online. In our latest episode of MMONFT, executive producer Loren Roosendaal sat down to talk all things gameplay related in Ember Sword, and provided some limited gameplay through the offline demo.
The interview with Loren touches on the lore, the story, the gameplay, the endgame and quite a bit more. It was so big, it couldn’t fit into one episode, so I’ve split the interview into two separate MMONFT episodes to watch at your leisure. In the first episode, we talk about the world, the lore, and some of the important aspects of the combat system like skills and balance. Throughout the video you can see my play through of the offline demo version of the game, which includes some of my successes with the combat system, and some of my utter and complete failures with the skill-based positional combat. After some hands-on time with the demo it was clear that Ember Sword’s combat is going to be both fun and challenging, and I can’t wait to play more.
After you make your way through part one, get ready for more information with the follow up episode in part 2 next week! In part 2 of the interview with Loren, we go over itemization and what happens once you reach end game. Do you like what you’ve seen so far in Ember Sword?
