Bungie dropped Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2 earlier this week, promising a darker story in which Saint-14 is mind controlled and the enigmatic “Conductor” said to play a central role in the story.
The update also adds three new weapons to Destiny 2, including the Aberrant Action, a Solar rocket-assisted sidearm frame. Corrasion a new heavy burst pulse rifle and Perfect Paradox a new kinetic shotgun have also been added. The Aberrant Action and Corrasion can be crafted, however the Perfect Pardox, a returning Saint shotgun from Season of Dawn, cannot.
There are also ne Artifact mods centered primarily on solar and sniper rifles. These mods offer Solar sniper rifles the ability to scorch targets on a precision hit and also the ability to accumulate stacking damage buffs as well as stability and reload bonuses. The new mods are a good fit for Still Hunt, though that weapon’s golden gun shot damage is being reduced by 25% in this update.
Act 2 also adds two new battlegrounds with a third to arrive on July 23. Each battleground features a unique boss.
Later on in August, Bungie is set to implement a number of buffs, including reduced sniper flinching in PvE, Tex Mechanica rifles getting a boost in PvE, a hefty buff to shield damage for Eriana’s Vow, and more.
