Epic Games has introduced a new ‘Reload’ mode to Fortnite with update 30.20, providing players with its own take on Warzone’s Resurgence mode. Reload, like its Warzone counterpart, allows for unlimited respawns as long as the team isn’t fully wiped.
It’s a popular mode in Warzone, so it’s no surprise that Epic’s taken a page from Activision’s playbook here.
Reload mode is a 40 player experience that remixes locations. like Tilted Towers and Retail Row, and elements from the game’s Chapter 1 map in order to make for a tighter gameplay experience that still taps into nostalgia for the game’s past.
The mode can be played in either Battle Royale or Zero Build and classic experience means players don’t have to deal with vehicles, either.
Epic is also unvaulting a variety of weapons including the Revolver, Tactical Shotgun, Lever Action Shotgun, OG Heavy Shotgun, Tactical Submachine Gun, Infantry Rifle, Heavy Assault Rifle, Bolt Action Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, and Grappler.
Participating in Reload will earn players a number of rewards. The mode’s introduction quests provided 20K exp each and successfully finishing them will unlock the Digital Dogfight Contrail, Pool Cubes Wrap, and NaNa Bath Back Bling. Players who manage to secure a Victory Royale will be rewarded with The Rezzbrella Glider.
