Activision has officially confirmed the announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which will take place on June 9 after Xbox’s June Showcase. This latest title in the series will be developed by Treyarch and the game had a bit more time to cook this time around, so players are hopeful the extra time will result in a better experience.
The Xbox Games Showcase in June will be Xbox’s first showcase following its merger with Activision-Blizzard. It will include games from Microsoft studios Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios, as well as a number of third party developers.

Earlier this week, the game’s first teaser was shared on social as well as a mini-site at thetruthlies.com. The visuals featured Mount Rushmore with the faces painted over with the text “The Truth Lies.” The mini-site features a small CCTV themed video player with six different channels players can flip through, some with varying bits of footage. The full teaser was compiled in a single video and published to YouTube, which we’ve included here.
The official reveal on June 9 will give players a deep look into gameplay, so there should be something substantial for players to chew on. Rumors currently suggest the game will be set during the first Gulf War in the ‘90s.
