'Badwater' is Timberborn's Biggest Update Yet

Timberborn, a city-building game where mankind has perished and been replaced by “lumberpunk” beavers, has received its biggest update yet.

Badwater, the game’s fifth major update, introduces new ecological hazards, makes a number of changes in response to player feedback, and reworks all of the games maps, adding new mechanics along with it.

Badwater is more than just the update’s title. It’s a name for the newly introduced waterborne pollutant harmful to beavers and crops. In addition to everything else players had to balance when managing their cities, it’s now critical to provide cities with proper irrigation in order to prevent dangerous contamination of water sources.

The developers have also added 25 new buildings to the game, as well as a number of new tools and structures designed to deal with Badwater contamination. This includes contamination barriers, decontamination pods, as well as various hydroengineering tools that join existing dam, floodgate, and pump mechanics to give players plenty of options for dealing with the new threat to their cities.

Badwater can also be processed to create Extract, which is a component used in explosives designed for terraforming, upgrading bots, or even for mass producing new beavers.

There’s plenty more in the update to chew on. Get all the details over on Steam.
