Skydance New Media unveiled Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, a new title featuring Black Panther and Captain America, at Epic’s State of Unreal GDC showcase this week.
Originally announced back in 2021 and teased in 2022, the game is Amy Hennig’s latest and puts the focus on Black Panther and Captain America in their own adventure in occupied Paris during World War II. The game features an original narrative but is inspired by a limited comic series titled Captain America/Black Panther: Flags Of Our Fathers. In the game, Captain America will join forces with Black Panther on a mission to stop the rise of Hydra.
Marvel 1943 will be a single-player action-adventure game where players will take control of four characters, including the aforementioned Captain America and Black Panther, as well as Howling Commandos Gabriel Jones and Nanali, who runs the Wakandan spy network.
The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and is set for release sometime in 2025. Skydance New Media has not confirmed any release platforms just yet. We’ll bring you the latest on the game as we learn more.
