In a story that first showed up on Gematsu earlier this week, but was corroborated in a tweet by the developer, a new Next-Gen Fantasy MMORPG is planned for PC, Consoles, and Mobile called Chrono Odyssey by South Korean studio NPIXEL, and is slated to go into testing in 2021, with a release sometime in 2022.
For those unfamiliar with NPIXEL, they have another Multi-Platform MMORPG in development already, called Gran Saga. NPIXEL was originally founded by former developers from Netmarble, and while Gran Saga has yet to be released, the final Closed Beta Test registration process began December 1st, with a purported release date for the title sometime in early 2021.
Chrono Odyssey, which was just announced, is planned as a “Spacetime Epic Fantasy MMORPG”. The gorgeous trailer undoubtedly will pique the interest of fantasy RPG lovers, as it depicts epic monsters, attractive elves, and powerful magic. Both Gran Saga and Chrono Odyssey are planned for English versions, though no strict time frame has yet to be given on when we can expect to see western players hopping into these worlds.
