The Ultima Online team has announced that the Atlantic server has been rolled back to a December 5th server-side save. The rollback was necessary due to "issues beyond our control" and a more current save was not available because of corruption issues. Players on the Atlantic server have been compensated with 30-days of free game time.

In order to celebrate Ultima Online's 12th anniversary, EA has launched a "Return to Britannia" Campaign. The eighth expansion to Ultima Online, entitled "Stygian Abyss" will launc September 8th, 2009. The new expansion will introduce Gargoyles as a playable race, include several new areas, and allegedly one of the biggest dungeons to ever appear in Ultima Online.
