Trove Articles
I never thought voxel MMO Trove could get anymore brighter or cuter but Trion Worlds has proven me wrong announcing Trove Geode and Bomber Royale last month, releasing both updates on the Public Test Shard shortly after. Yours truly has been on there taking it all in and this is what I have discovered.
Trion Worlds is getting ready to bring Trove players superhero-sized fun with the Heroes content expansion coming on March 27th. Last week, I had the chance to check out Heroes with Senior Producer James Karras and Animator Ted Sanger and I have to say, it's shaping up to bring some very cool features and more to players. Let's take a look.
A massive Trove: Adventures update arrives on November 14th so today we had the opportunity to sit down with Trion Worlds developers Robin “Twixler” Luera (Trove Lead Art/Animator) and Ted “Dopesheet” Sanger (Trove Senior Animator) to find out what all the voxel fuss was about!
The voxel art styled MMO action adventure world of Trove just recently got a brand new update in the Eclipse expansion. But the team is already hard at work at improving the player experience even more. I got my first hands-on session with the game while on the at PAX this year.
TROVE is the colorful, carefree, but feature-packed MMORPG that keeps on getting bigger. Trion Worlds today launches the Eclipse update, a day later than that other Eclipse. We were fortunate enough to run through a demo of the content on deck, and bring you this report today as the patch goes live on servers.
While at PAX East I had the opportunity to tryout Trove on the Xbox One and to chat with Character Animator Robin Luera about the upcoming console launch.
As we near closer and closer to the launch date of Trove’s Mantle of Power update, we’ve been talking with Trion’s Andrew Krausnick about all the different features coming to the game. Now, sneakily, the Trion folks put in the Leaderboards’ first incarnation just this week. We got a look at how those will work, plus a sneak peek at the never before seen Shadow Worlds – Trove’s hardest content yet.
We’re counting down the weeks until Trove’s big Mantle of Power update by taking quick looks at each of the new features coming with the expansion when it drops. Today, it’s all about the new tier of gear known simply as Stellar.
Trove's Mantle of Power update is weeks away, but that doesn't mean Trion Worlds is feeling shy about letting us know what to expect. Read on for our exclusive first look at the new worlds coming in Trove's big update.
Listen up Trove fans: your game is about to get its biggest update ever in the coming weeks when the Mantle of Power expansion lands on the live servers. Focused intensely on progression, there are 10 new levels per class, and a brand new Gem System that augments each of the game’s 14 classes with dozens of new abilities. Read on for the full details on this and more.
Trion hasn’t released tools for content creation in Trove, instead, resourceful players have basically developed their own tools and mod loaders to work with the game’s assets and come up with their own creations. One player even created a pair of Corgi guns.
Trion is taking on Minecraft and SoE’s Landmark with their own brand of sandbox cuteness with Trove, a voxel building multiplayer, online sandbox MMORPG. Graphically more akin to Minecraft than Landmark, Trove provides a different color of sandbox for players that enjoy the building game with some fighting, collecting and crafting thrown in for the fun of it. We got some time with the title at PAX to discuss the recent additions and upcoming closed beta.
In keeping with the relatively new notion of transparent development, the makers of sandbox game Trove have let players in since the game hit alpha. Continuing the tradition, last week, the game's publisher Trion Worlds invited me to see the game in its current state during an in-office Community Day event. Fortunate timing that, since it allowed me to see lots of cool player-made content before it gets swept away by the end-of-alpha apocalypse.
Although ArcheAge was very much my game of show at GDC last week, another of Trion Worlds’ games took a close second: the delightfully cute and complex Trove. It’s silly, it’s visually appealing, and it’s seemingly chock full of collaborative adventure.
We caught up with Trove’s Andrew Krausnick to talk about some of the new and upcoming additions to Trion’s world-building, destroying, raptor riding, sword swinging, soon to be pistol-wielding adventure MMO. The small, but growing team has been hard at work since returning from the holidays, and in just a few short weeks since our last update a slew of new additions have gone live in the alpha. Read on to find out what’s new and what’s coming soon to the voxel-based adventure.
