Adjustments Coming to Torchlight III Following Feedback

As a result of player feedback, Torchlight III is receiving some adjustments for skills, combat, and more.

The team first cites the most common complaints they’ve heard about skill progression,

“I’m not feeling excited about the points that I spend. The skill point benefits don’t feel chunky enough. I would like to see the skills change when I upgrade them.”

To that end, the team is looking to Torchlight II and adding a per-level bonus where each skill will have an unlockable bonus at levels 4, 8, and 12. Regarding combat, the team wants the game to feel more responsive,

“We are looking at our player-to-monster collision and helping our heroes slide around and between the monsters more. (That one is some tricky code, but we are hopeful that someone will figure it out.) We are also improving our escape skills so that they both interrupt an active skill and move the player in one click. We are pretty sure that there are more things in this area that we will need to address, but it’s a start.”

Harvesting is one other area of feedback. The team is adding a tactical bonus to character after harvesting, including a move speed bonus, attack speed, or crit chance bonus. These should in the next Mainline patch.
