Witcher 3 has hit an all-time peak player count on Steam recently.
As of this writing, the CD Projekt RED RPG stands at 94,601 with player count rising seemingly every day in December, according to the latest numbers from Steam Charts. Some of this popularity can no doubt be attributed to the recent Netflix release of The Witcher which adapts the novels into a series, rather than the show.
However, there is some evidence behind positive fan reception of the show. According to Business Insider, The Witcher Netflix show which debuted on December 20, “was the third most in-demand original streaming series in the US for the week of December 18 to December 24, according to data provided to Business Insider by Parrot Analytics.”
While causation isn’t necessarily correlation, Steam Charts records a dramatic uptick in player count for The Witcher 3 from December 20 onwards. Are you replaying the RPG epic?
